By the end of the course, students will understand features of the United States political system, such as Federalism, the branches of government, the Electoral College and political parties. As a class we will explore the United States Constitution and its importance to the survival of our Republic. Students will not only understand the concepts and ideas presented to them, but also be able to apply them to a vast number of situations in the future.
The final unit of the course will introduce students to the topic of Economics and the Free Market. We will cover introductory themes of Micro and Macro Economics, supply and demand and the role of the Free Market in the American Founding.
U.S. History

Students will be exposed to the Founding Fathers as never before – illustrating their Judeo-Christian values, the importance of freedom and the necessity of religion in order to have a free society. We will cover important points in our history – such as the American Revolution, The War Between the States, World War I and II, The Great Depression and the New Deal – all while investigating the themes of National Identity, Politics and Power, Natural Rights, Geography and Culture. As we explore primary sources and original documents, students will develop critical thinking and analysis skills that will prepare them for college and beyond.

Spanish I
The focus of this course if how to use Spanish in REAL life situations. Don’t let the future version of your child say: I took Spanish for four years, and can’t even say “hello, how are you?”!
I have found that many of my friends who studied a language in High School or College are incapable of putting a sentence together, and remember nothing from their courses, so I developed this class to avoid that problem! Let’s bring Spanish to life by learning to order from menus, introduce yourself, tell a friend how your day went, and so much more. You’ll never need to learn to say “The Blue Cat” - so let’s skip the boring parts and dive right in.
We will learn how Spanish relates to other Romantic languages, and tie Spanish in to the English language. Students will learn quick suffix and prefix tricks to instantly expand their vocabulary.
We will cover the four traditional skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. We will also cover an introduction to the Spanish-speaking world and the rich culture of Hispanic/Latino communities in the United States and beyond. This course is appropriate for beginners, with little to no experience.
